initial appearance

There was a large caries lesion on the mesial part of the right upper central tooth. The material lost including incisal edge will be restored with direct resin composite (Tokuyama Estelite) with SUPERIOR MATRIX.

Appearance after cavity preparation

Caries lesion was removed and enamel margins were belvelled.

Adjusting superior matrix 

The cervical part of the Superior Matrix was trimmed with fine point scissors. Then its placement in the preparation was evaluated. At this stage the orientation of the matrix can be adjusted.

Thanks to its design, the Superior Matrix covers the palatal part of the preparation.

After finishing excess material on matrix margins with fine burs, and polishing restoration with polishing discs, restoration is done with predictable success.
